The Powerball jackpot will continue to climb, as Saturday’s drawing did not have a grand prize winner for the estimated $580 million, with a $278.2 million cash value.
Monday’s jackpot of $610 million with a cash value of $292.6 million will rank as the eighth-largest grand prize in the lottery’s 30-year history.
Saturday’s lottery drawing numbers were 19, 25, 48, 55, 60, with a red Powerball of 18 and a 2x Power Play.
While no jackpot winners emerged in Saturday night’s drawing, smaller prizes were won across the country.
According to the Powerball website, Saturday’s drawing produced three $1 million tickets from players in New York, Texas, and South Carolina who matched all five white balls. Additionally, 36 players won $50,000 hitting the Match 4 along with a powerplay. Six players won $100,000 prizes, hitting the Match 4 alongside the Powerball and powerplay.
Over 1.4 million tickets won crash prizes from the drawing, totaling $12.9 million.
The Powerball jackpot prize amount begins at $40 million and will continue to increase every time the drawings do not produce a winner. The jackpot stood at $580 million Saturday night and has now grown to $610 million heading into the thirty-fifth drawing on Monday evening – a $292.6 million cash prize amount.
During the drawing, Powerball officials draw five numbers ranging from 1 to 69 for white balls which contestants win by matching to the five numbers on their ticket. The red Powerball is drawn from a second machine and ranges from 1 to 26.
Contestants are only able to win the full jackpot by matching all of the white balls as well as the red Powerball. Drawing the correct Powerball number alone will only grant the winner $4, doubling the amount of the cost of a Powerball ticket.
The last Powerball lottery was won on Aug. 3 and there have been five total winners in 2022. Winners can choose several ways to receive their winnings, which are taxed federally and by their local jurisdiction. Options include 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a cash option. The largest Powerball jackpot came in 2016 with a record $1.586 billion-dollar amount being split among winners in California, Tennessee, and Florida.
Powerball tickets are $2 each and are available in 45 states including Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia. Powerball results are streamed online at Powerball.com and broadcast live throughout various local news networks on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
