The second round of the 2023 NFL playoffs starts Saturday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium. The Kansas City Chiefs host the Jacksonville Jaguars to kick off Divisional Round Weekend with a trip to the AFC Championship Game on the line.
The Chiefs and Jaguars have a game time of 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Aside from the TV Channel, fans can also watch Saturday’s game with live streams on Peacock or the NBC Sports app.
Saturday’s game in Kansas City is expected to be the most one-sided matchup of the divisional playoffs. The Chiefs are favored by 8.5 points. Kansas City is coming off a bye on Wild-Card Weekend after earning the AFC’s No. 1 seed and finishing five games ahead of Jacksonville in the conference standings.
It looked like the Jaguars weren’t going to survive Wild-Card Weekend. Jacksonville fell behind the Los Angeles Chargers 27-0 in less than 26 minutes of game-time on the first night of the playoffs. The Jaguars mounted an improbable comeback, making the game-winning field goal as time expired to defeat the Chargers 31-30.
The divisional round playoff game is a rematch from Week 10 in the regular season. The Chiefs beat the Jaguars 27-17 at home. Kansas City had a two-score lead for two-thirds of the game. Patrick Mahomes completed 26 of 35 passes for 331 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.
Mahomes was named a First-Team All-Pro selection. The quarterback is expected to win his second MVP award. In 11 career playoff games, Mahomes has an 8-3 record with 28 touchdown passes, seven interceptions and a 105.7 passer rating.
In four straight seasons, Mahomes and the Chiefs have won a divisional playoff game in Kansas City.
Trevor Lawrence had one of the most unique debuts in NFL playoff history. The Jaguars quarterback threw four first-half interceptions against the Chargers. Lawrence finished the games with 288 passing yards and four touchdowns, leading one of the greatest comebacks of all time.
The winner of Saturday’s game will go on to face either the Buffalo Bills or the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.
