Crypto On Oct. 19: Bitcoin, Ether Take A Dip, Altcoins Follow

The crypto market was in the red Wednesday with leading cryptocurrencies Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) taking a short dip. Altcoins followed a similar bearish trajectory.

The world’s biggest cryptocurrency held the $19,000 price level, which is a short-term support. Meanwhile, ETH retained $1,300 Tuesday and is currently trading above it.

The trading volume of BTC rose 8.17% in the last 24 hours, while that of ETH surged 6.35%. The price of BTC dipped by 1.34%, while ETH was down 2.12% at the same time.

According to data from CoinMarketCap, BTC and ETH tokens were priced at $19,290 and $1,304, respectively, as of 12.00 a.m. ET.

The crypto fear and greed index indicated that the market was in “extreme fear” as its value was up by one, to 23, as compared to Tuesday.

BTC was up 1.07% in the last seven days, while ETH’s price was up 1.34%.

Other top 10 crypto coins were bearish with Binance Coin (BNB) down 0.93% to $272.34; Solana (SOL) down 3.44% to $30.02; Cardano (ADA) down 3.24% to $0.356; Dogecoin (DOGE) down 0.05% to $0.05988; and Ripple (XRP) down 3.23% to $0.4621.

Interestingly, as per the BNB price prediction from Bitnation, the BNB token is expected to reach a maximum price of $490.33 by the end of 2022 while XRP price prediction expects the XRP token to push above the $0.830025 price region by the same period.

The top gainers included Aave (AAVE), which rose 4.07% to $82.65; Monero (XLM), which was up 1.97% to $146.80; Maker (MKR), which was up 2.03% to $1,112; and Ravencoin (RVN), which was up 0.72% to $0.03183.

The top losers in the crypto market were Quant (QNT), which was down 10.89% to $176.84; Convex Finance (CVX), which slipped 9.80% to $5.13; Compound (COMP), which was down 4.23% to $52.87; and The Graph (GRT), which dropped 4.21% to $0.08266.

Other popular tokens that were bearish included Polkadot (DOT), which dropped 1.81% to $6.13; Avalanche (AVAX), which was up 3.69% to $15.66; and Polygon (MATIC), which rose 0.42% to $0.8608.
