Following 13 years of marriage, Gisele Bundchen is adjusting to a new normal after finalizing her divorce from Tom Brady.
A source told People the model initially struggled “but enough time has passed that she is settling in” following the end of her marriage to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback.
“Gisele is dealing with issues that have been plaguing her for a long time,” the insider said.
Bundchen’s “main focus and priority” are their children, son Benjamin Rein, 12, and daughter Vivian Lake, 9. The insider claimed Bundchen’s “mood is up and jovial around” her kids.
“Gisele is great with her children and radiates happiness when either one or both are around,” the source said. “Having them with her has helped her move ahead.”
Those close to the model suggested Bundchen and Brady led separate lives during their marriage. An insider said Bundchen “has lived her own life for years while Tom played football, so she is not afraid to do things by herself.”
Now that Bundchen is legally single, she “is also eager to continue with her own career and interests.” A second source added, “She has a full plate and lots of support.”
Bundchen and Brady announced their divorce on Friday, months after rumors suggested their marriage hit a rough patch.
Shortly after reports that the couple planned to file for divorce surfaced, Brady and Bundchen took to social media with similar posts to confirm their split.
“With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children, whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care, and attention they greatly deserve,” Bundchen wrote.
Meanwhile, Brady’s post read, “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
While documents finalizing Bundchen and Brady’s divorce were made public, details of their custody and property settlements were negotiated privately and remain sealed.
