Hallmark Channel’s 2023 slate of movies continues with the sixth installment of the “Wedding Veil” franchise, “The Wedding Veil Journey.” The film will debut Saturday and stars Alison Sweeney and Victor Webster.
The film, which is expected to be the final one in the popular series, will be a treat for fans as it picks up this latest chapter and focuses on the third film’s central couple, portrayed by Sweeney and Webster.
Fans are, of course, also in for a treat because of the cast themselves. While Sweeney is always going to be best-known for her long-running role as Sami Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” she’s a Hallmark staple as well. Titles in recent years have included both the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries’ films in the “Chronicle Mysteries” and “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” catalogs, as well as several holiday titles for both the Movies and Mysteries and regular Hallmark Channels. Those titles include “Time for You to Come Home for Christmas,” “Good Morning Christmas,” “Open By Christmas,” “Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas” and “A Magical Christmas Village.”
Webster is also a Hallmark staple, having starred in recent years on “Chesapeake Shores” and in the “Matchmaker Mysteries,” films, as well as “Homegrown Christmas,” “Hearts of Winter,” “Five Star Christmas” and “A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe.”
Lacey Chabert (“Haul Out the Holly”) and Autumn Reeser (“The 27-Hour Day”) also return for the latest film.
So what can fans expect from the film? While a more detailed synopsis is not yet available, a description of the film’s premise seems to indicate that the romance in store may be coming in the most unexpected of ways.
“Tracy (Sweeney) and Nick (Webster) agree to set aside work to make time for a long overdue honeymoon to Greece,” a summary of the film reads. “When they are stranded on a secluded island, they confront their life choices.”
With Tracy’s besties also in tow for the adventure, Tracy and Nick could find themselves having the most unforgettable honeymoon.
“The Wedding Veil Journey” premieres Saturday, January 21 at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
