The year 2022 has been filled with unexpected events, including the heartbreaking deaths of several celebrities. Although these stars may be gone, their legacy will live on in Hollywood.

Anne Heche
Heche was left in a coma following a fiery car crash and eventually succumbed to her injuries on Aug. 11 at age 53. She is survived by her two sons, Homer Laffoon and Atlas Heche Tupper.
Kirstie Alley

On Dec. 5, Alley’s family announced the “Cheers” alum died following a short battle with cancer. “We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce, and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered,” read a statement shared on Alley’s Instagram account.
“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.” Alley was 71.
Ivana Trump

On July 14, the ex-wife of former president Donald Trump died at age 73. Paramedics initially responded to a call about a cardiac arrest at her Upper East Side home. However, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Ivana Trump died after suffering blunt impact injuries to her torso, consistent with a fall on the stairs.
Taylor Hawkins

The Foo Fighters drummer died on March 25 while on tour with the group in Bogotá, Colombia. Aside from his work with the band, Hawkins also released three albums with Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders. Hawkins was 50.
Olivia Newton-John

Bob Saget

Saget became a household name thanks to his role as Danny Tanner on “Full House” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos” hosting gig. Off-screen, the actor also had a love for comedy, which resulted in raunchy stand-up performances. Saget was pronounced dead on Jan. 9 after he was found unresponsive in a Ritz Carlton in Orlando. He was 65.
Sonya Eddy
The hearts of soap opera fans everywhere were left shattered following the Dec. 19 death of the “General Hospital” alum. Actress Octavia Spencer shared the news of Eddy’s death on Instagram. “The world lost another creative angel. Her legions of @generalhospitalabc fans will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones, friends, and fans!” Spencer wrote. Eddy was 55.
Leslie Jordan

The actor and comedian died on Oct. 24 after reportedly suffering a medical emergency while driving his BMW. “The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan,” Jordan’s rep said in a statement at the time. Jordan was 67.
Ray Liotta

The “Goodfellas” actor passed away on May 26 in the Dominican Republic. Liotta was on location filming a movie and died in his sleep. The Primetime Emmy Winner appeared in numerous projects, including “ER,” The Place Beyond the Pines,” “Shades of Blue,” “Cop Land,” and “Killing Them Softly.” Liotta was 67.
Naomi Judd

The Grammy award-winning country singer, who made up half of the music duo known as The Judds, died on April 30 at age 76. Judd’s daughters Ashley and Wynonna released a statement expressing their heartbreak over her shocking death.
“Today, we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” the statement read. “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”
André Leon Talley

Talley’s eye for fashion led him to become the creative director at Vogue from 1988 to 1995. He later held the role of editor-at-large from 1998 to 2013 and often rubbed elbows with Anna Wintour, Vogue’s current global editorial director. Talley also served as a fashion advisor to former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in 2008. Talley died from a heart attack on Jan. 18 at age 73.
Louie Anderson

Anderson’s final film appearance was in the 2021 flick “Coming 2 America.”
Coolio

Coolio, born Artis Leon Ivey Jr., made a name for himself in the mid-1990s thanks to his lyrical talents that led to hit songs like “Gangsta’s Paradise” and “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New).”
On Sept. 28, the Grammy winner was pronounced dead at a friend’s house in Los Angeles. “We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon,” a rep for Coolio said in a statement at the time. “He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly.”
Coolio’s manager, Jarez Posey, told Rolling Stone that cardiac arrest was the suspected cause of death. The rapper was 59.
Lindsey Pearlman
The body of the TV actress, who snagged roles on “General Hospital” and “Chicago Justice,” was found on Feb. 18 in Los Angeles. Pearlman, who died by suicide, was missing for several days before she was located. She was 43.
