It seems unlikely another suitor will be easily found – at least not without Income’s shareholders being prepared to accept a much lower offer price
THE withdrawal of Allianz’s offer for Income Insurance has raised a number of questions for shareholders of the former cooperative.
The most obvious one is: Will Income be able to find another suitor? Or, has the government’s decision to block the deal proposed by Allianz made Income an unviable acquisition target for every other commercially driven insurer?
And, if Income were to remain independent, does its existing board and management have the ability to deliver as much value to its shareholders as the now abandoned deal with Allianz?
