Beyonce and JAY-Z’s eldest daughter turned 11 on Saturday and she received a special message from her grandmother Tina Knowles.
“The day that you were born was one of the best days of my life,” Knowles wrote, alongside a photo of her and the young girl at a beach as the sun sets behind them. “I was really praying and pushing your mom to have you on January 4 which is my birthday. I really wanted you to share my birthday, but like your auntie Solo you decided to come when you were good and damn ready.”
“Knowing you and your personality now, I realize that you needed your own day because you were such a queen and you are so very special!” she added. “You can sing dance, play basketball, play, volleyball, paint draw, sculpt, sew, write poetry, write songs, create, act, play the piano! I could go on and on. Because there’s really nothing that you can’t do.”
The 69-year-old producer and actress concluded, “I could not ask for a better granddaughter Ms. Blue Ivy Carter! I could not be more blessed, grateful, and completely in love with another human. You truly bring me joy!!”
Blue Ivy is the eldest child of Beyonce and JAY-Z. They are also parents to 5-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.
It seems Blue Ivy is inclined to follow her parents’ musical careers. She joined her mother in the latter’s opening performance at the Academy Awards in Compton, California, last March.
Beyonce was surrounded by dancers while singing “Be Alive,” her Oscar-nominated track from “King Richard” — a film about how former American tennis coach Richard Williams raised Serena and Venus Williams to become tennis superstars. Clad in neon green, the dancers grooved to the track and toward the end, Blue Ivy joined them wearing a pair of dark sunglasses.
Before this, Blue Ivy and her then-4-year-old sister Rumi also joined Beyonce for her fashion campaign for Adidas, dubbed the “Halls of Ivy,” in 2021. The campaign was the fifth collaborative project between Adidas and Ivy Park – an activewear brand founded by Beyonce.
