Alphabet’s Google has unveiled its most advanced artificial intelligence model to date, Gemini 3, and has embedded it directly into Google Search, signalling a major step in the company’s effort to maintain leadership in the rapidly evolving AI sector.

Gemini 3 Pro, the flagship version of the model, will be available in the Gemini app and through Google’s “AI Mode” in Search for paid subscribers, offering users more nuanced and sophisticated responses to complex queries.

Unlike previous iterations, Gemini 3 is natively multimodal, capable of understanding and responding to prompts that combine text, images, and audio. The model also incorporates advanced reasoning, allowing it to perform multi-step tasks and plan actions in a way earlier versions could not.

The integration into Search marks a strategic shift: Google is positioning Gemini 3 as a core feature of its search ecosystem, not just a standalone chatbot. It is designed to act as a “thought partner,” enhancing how users find information, learn, and complete tasks online.

Experts note that Google’s full-stack approach, controlling research, infrastructure, and data centers, provides the company with a competitive advantage over rivals that rely on external AI frameworks. This allows Google to deploy its most powerful AI capabilities across its products in a tightly integrated manner.

Gemini 3 also represents a potential new revenue pathway for Alphabet. Executives have indicated that advertising may eventually be incorporated into the AI-driven features, signaling a shift in how Google might monetize its growing AI business.

The launch is a major milestone in Alphabet’s strategy to make AI central to its long-term roadmap. By embedding its most capable model in Search and its app ecosystem, Google is staking a claim in the future of computing, information retrieval, and AI-assisted productivity.
