JoJo Fletcher is detailing her future family plans with her husband Jordan Rodgers.
Months after tying the knot in May, the “Bachelorette” alum, 32, shared that she and the 34-year-old sports announcer are ready to be parents at this point.
“I loved our life together before as an engaged couple,” she told OK! magazine. “But there is this excitement now of talking about building a family together in the near future that is really special.”
Fletcher also previously talked about their plans to expand their family in an interview with People following their May nuptials. At the time, she said that she and the former football quarterback were “ready for the next chapter” after their six-year engagement and two wedding postponements owing to the pandemic.
“We were supposed to get married in 2020 and then we were going to wait a year or two before having kids. Now that we’ve had the couple of years, I think the conversation of starting to plan our family is at the forefront of our lives,” Fletcher said in May. “I’m a new aunt and Jordan is about to be a new uncle and the idea of kids is something that’s really exciting to me.”
As for their life as a married couple, Fletcher told OK! that though “nothing major” has changed in their daily lives since the wedding, she noticed a shift in her relationship with Rodgers.
“I would say there is this feeling you get once married that just feels a bit different,” she shared. “It’s hard to explain, but there is a deeper feeling of connection.”
Jordan is busy with work amid the NFL season, and Fletcher has her own projects too. But they make it a point to always make time for each other and are “being intentional about it,” according to the reality star.
“Thankfully, we are always together when we are in the same place but having those uninterrupted mini date nights together is super important and something we look forward to,” she explained. “Whether it’s something small as an evening walk together or cooking our favorite meal at home, making sure we are both fully present is a great way to reconnect after a hectic work week.”
Fletcher and Rodgers tied the knot at the Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, California, on May 14. Their wedding came six years after they got engaged on “The Bachelorette” finale in 2016.
“It sounds cliché, but I really am marrying my best friend,” Fletcher told People after their wedding. “Everything that’s happened in our relationship has only made us stronger. And we just feel so lucky.”
