JPMORGAN has appointed Kam Shing Kwang as its new Hong Kong CEO, succeeding Harshika Patel as she completes her term, an internal memo reviewed by Reuters on Friday shows.
Kwang’s appointment will be effective from Oct 1. She will oversee local governance, coordination and controls, and reports to JPMorgan Asia chief executive Sjoerd Leenart, who sent the memo to staff.
A company spokesperson confirmed the memo.
Kwang will build upon the work done by Patel, as she expanded her role as chair for North Asia.
Kwang joined the bank in 1998, and brings a wealth of experience to the role, the memo said.
Patel has proved her leadership during the term, helped strengthen the internal culture, and solidify JPMorgan’s presence. She will continue as the chief executive of Asia Private Bank, a role she overtook from Kwang late last year, the memo said. REUTERS
