KEY POINTS
- Kim Kardashian transformed into “X-Men’s” Mystique for this year’s Halloween
- The “Kardashians” star donned a skintight latex costume with full-coverage face paint, yellow contacts and a red wig
- Saweetie rocked the same look two years earlier but opted for body paint
Kim Kardashian’s Halloween look is drawing comparisons to that of Saweetie’s from two years ago.
For this year’s Halloween, the “Kardashians” star donned a skintight blue bodysuit complete with a faux-scaly finish to transform into the shapeshifting mutant Mystique, who has been portrayed by Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence in the “X-Men” franchise, Page Six reported.
Kardashian completed the look with full-coverage face paint in the same hue, bright yellow contacts and a red wig.
“Hey Marvel,” she captioned a Twitter video of her modeling her Mystique makeover.
Two years earlier, Saweetie also dressed up as the fictional comic-book character, though she opted for body paint. The rapper completed her look with a red wig, yellow contacts and pink nails.
Kardashian’s costume sparked a discussion on social media over who had the better Mystique transformation between her and Saweetie.
“Saweetie did it better, unfortunately,” one Twitter user commented. Another wrote, “Saweetie did it way better.”
“I’m not a Saweetie fan at all, but she killed it. Mystique is literally naked in base form, and it looks like Saweetie did that. She could step into the movie and I’d believe it. Kim is wearing a plastic suit and heels,” a third user pointed out.
Some preferred Kardashian’s version of the character over Saweetie’s.
“Kim looks 100% better than her, to be honest,” one person opined. “Kim did it better,” another fan added.
“Kim Kardashian looks more like the character on screen,” a third person said.
Others, however, were not happy that social media users are comparing the two women’s costumes.
“You guys make everything a competition,” one wrote.
“They both ate. [I don’t know] why it has to be a competition,” another added.
“Do we raise each other up by tearing each other down?” a third person asked.
It is not clear which character Saweetie will be dressing up as this year, but last year, she transformed into Halle Berry’s Catwoman by donning the actress’ black leather, midriff-baring costume from the 2004 movie.
Earlier this week, Kardashian shared photos of her and Kanye West’s four kids — North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 — channeling hip-hop “icons” Aaliyah, Snoop Dogg, Sade and Eazy-E, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Skims founder’s younger sister Kylie Jenner shared Friday photos of her dressed up as the “Bride of Frankenstein,” channeling the aesthetic of the original 1935 horror film of the same name.
“HAPPY HALLOWEEKEND,” she captioned a shot of herself strapped to an operating table situated in a recreation of Dr. Frankenstein’s lab.
