For Jennifer Feltner, founder and CEO of Superior Blessings, recruitment has been more than just filling positions; it’s about building lives. With a background in psychology and an MBA in Human Resources, Feltner brings over two decades of HR management experience across both public and private sectors. Her career began with a simple belief instilled by her parents: treat others with the same respect and care one wishes to receive. That philosophy would go on to shape an entire business.
“I was raised to think long term, to manage resources carefully, and to help others succeed,” Feltner says. “Those lessons guide every decision I make, from how I hire to how I invest in my team.”
Superior Blessings was born from Feltner’s years in HR, where she recognized an opportunity to support the essential roles that keep healthcare facilities running smoothly. She says, “When I entered the staffing industry, I knew that certified nurse assistants and medication technicians are truly the backbone of care.”
Starting with those entry-level positions, she built a model rooted in empathy and access. As a single mother who worked her way through school, Feltner understood the barriers that many job seekers face: lack of resources, limited education, or simply not knowing where to start. She resolved to personally finance the education of her candidates, ensuring they have the best opportunities to succeed.
In 2023, she personally invested in the training and certification of about 20 individuals, providing them with the credentials needed to begin or advance their careers. “I knew that if I could help someone gain an education, it would change not only their life but their family’s and their community’s,” she says. Many of those employees remain with Superior Blessings today.
Her approach is both practical and personal, and it is particularly noteworthy for its focus on sustainability. Instead of short-term placements, she focuses on long-term relationships between candidates, clients, and the communities they serve. “It’s about treating people with honesty and consistency,” Feltner explains. “When you do that, they want to grow with you.”
Over time, Superior Blessings expanded beyond healthcare, providing staffing for multiple industries, including food service and dental. Feltner also began exploring partnerships with career centers and state programs to widen access to job readiness training. Her goal is to continue bridging skill gaps while promoting economic mobility across local communities.
According to Feltner, much of the company’s success comes from her ability to see potential. She takes a hands-on approach to recruitment, reviewing every resume herself and often conducting in-person interviews. “If someone has gaps in their employment, I don’t dismiss it,” she says. “Those gaps tell a story. I meet people face-to-face to understand who they are and where they want to go.”
That human connection has helped Superior Blessings achieve high retention among both clients and employees, a reflection of Feltner’s belief that recruitment should be relational, not transactional. “I look at the bigger picture,” she says. “When someone earns more, spends more, and contributes to their community, it helps the local economy.”
From balancing multiple jobs during college to running a growing, multi-state staffing company, Feltner’s journey underscores the power of resilience and purpose. “Recruiting is my gift,” she says. “And using it to help others find stability and fulfillment is what drives me every day.”
